About the Role

VIA Rail is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our team in the rolling stock modernization department. As a key member of our project management office, you will be responsible for leading complex projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery, and meeting budget requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project plans, including resource allocation, budgeting, and scheduling
  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives
  • Ensure effective communication and stakeholder management throughout the project lifecycle
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating risks and issues
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement project governance frameworks
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and lessons learned
Requirements
  • University degree in engineering, administration, or related field
  • 7-10 years of project management experience in rail projects or the heavy equipment industry
  • Practical knowledge of project management tools and methods, such as Microsoft SharePoint and Project Online
  • PMP certification (an asset)
  • English/French bilingualism (spoken and written) is essential
