The Real Estate Financing division at Laurentian Bank operates across three regions in Canada (West, Central, and East). Our team provides essential support to real estate developers nationwide through construction and term loans, catering to various projects including commercial buildings, multi-residential units, industrial spaces, and housing developments. Key Responsibilities Cultivate new loan opportunities by engaging with both existing and prospective developer clients and mortgage brokers; Assess new loan applications to evaluate their viability as investments for the Bank, negotiate terms that align with client requirements, and ensure a secure and profitable investment for the institution; Collect necessary documentation to support the creation of detailed loan applications for submission to the relevant approval bodies; Upon loan approval, draft a commitment letter for client acceptance, liaise with the Bank's Legal department regarding the preparation of security documents, ensure compliance with all financing conditions, and authorize fund disbursement by the loan administrator as per credit authorization; Review loans approaching maturity for re-evaluation and potential renewal to ascertain their continued profitability for the Bank; Conduct regular inspections of real estate securing loan portfolios, both existing and under construction, to evaluate the quality of collateral; Ensure that assigned loan accounts function as authorized, taking necessary actions to rectify default payments or, in cases of non-performing loans, enforce security documentation to guarantee loan repayment; Address client inquiries, modifications to loan terms, and other account management matters that extend beyond administrative tasks; Build and sustain a profitable commercial real estate loan portfolio through dedicated service to commercial real estate developers, investors, and users. Undertake additional responsibilities as delegated by the AVP as needed. Required Qualifications A university degree or higher, preferably in Finance, Business Administration, or a Commerce degree focused on Commercial Real Estate; A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Account Manager in commercial real estate financing or a similar role within a recognized financial institution; Excellent communication skills in a negotiation context to successfully conclude complex transactions; Proficient in Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel software; Strong relationship-building abilities: Accurately assesses possibilities; demonstrates intellectual curiosity; is open to innovative ideas focused on solutions; is willing to explore unconventional approaches; Analytical mindset: Seeks relevant information, connects situations, and questions the root causes of issues; Customer-centric approach: Prioritizes customer satisfaction for themselves and their team. Assists in developing and implementing strategies that adapt to evolving client needs. Monitors market demands and adjusts service offerings accordingly. Evaluates customer satisfaction and promotes process enhancements among team members to deliver exceptional service; Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills: Employs structured work methods, establishes priorities, sets deadlines, and manages time effectively. Ability to manage multiple tasks and a strong sense of responsibility.
