Job Title: Managing Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Managing Consultant to join our team at People Corporation. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in retaining and growing relationships with our group benefits clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic consulting plans to drive client relationships forward.
  • Identify and capitalize on cross-selling opportunities that add value for our clients.
  • Review plan performance and client files to understand claims experience and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare market specifications for clients using internal and external quoting systems.
  • Analyze data and multiple carrier proposals, prepare cost comparisons, and facilitate finalist presentations as required.
  • Perform ad hoc investigations of claims data to explain trends to clients.
  • Collaborate with analysts and underwriters for client renewals, reporting, and reviews.
  • Provide technical and peer review work for analysts and other associates.
  • Coordinate new business implementation and prepare documents for client presentations.
  • Support working relationships with Plan Sponsors, Plan Administrators, and Representatives.
  • Reach across the organization to leverage expertise and relationships for client concerns or upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
  • Track ongoing work and update workflow systems regularly.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Commerce or Business Administration.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in group benefits in a client-facing role.
  • Understanding of the group benefits industry, including funding arrangements.
  • Life license required.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset, entrepreneurial spirit, and ability to adapt to a quickly changing environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat.
  • Proficiency and comfort working with multi-channel technology.
  • Valid driver's license and consistent access to a vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Life License (LLQP).
  • 2+ years' experience in the group benefits industry in a client-facing role.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of the group benefits industry, including funding arrangements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet client and internal needs.
  • Excellent reasoning, judgment, and decision-making abilities.
  • Good verbal and conflict resolution skills, and very good written and listening skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • GBA or CEBS designation considered an asset.
