The salary range for this position is between $62,239 and $89,469, determined by the applicant's qualifications, experience, and an internal equity assessment of existing staff salaries.
Role Impact
The Strategic Business Advisor (SBA) plays a crucial role in aligning the organization's vision and values with operational needs. The SBA will assist various programs in engaging contractors for diverse client services, including mental health, substance use, home care, and public health initiatives. Utilizing a computerized database, the SBA will conduct research, generate reports, and apply public sector procurement guidelines effectively. Responsibilities include collaborating with user departments on contracting needs, facilitating contractor meetings, drafting contract documents, and analyzing financial reports. The SBA may also prepare procurement documents for various services using word processing and spreadsheet software, along with knowledge of the BC Bid process. Furthermore, the SBA will contribute to policy and procedure development and support the contract termination process. A thorough understanding of contract management and procurement processes is essential to bridge the operational contract process with the strategic objectives of the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Consultants in reviewing and developing contract processes to ensure strategic alignment.
- Advise management on the strategic implications of contractual decisions and appropriate procurement actions.
- Conduct initial analyses of strategic reports as requested by Consultants, Managers, or Directors.
- Provide administrative and data support for project work.
- Monitor contract compliance, including data collection and management.
- Help develop training materials and policies alongside Consultants.
- Support RFP evaluations and new contract negotiations with relevant information.
- Facilitate relationships among Consultants, Managers, Directors, and partners on strategic matters.
- Offer backup support to Contract Advisors as needed.
- Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures, reporting any hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Consultants, Managers, or Directors.
