Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bakery Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our bakery, ensuring that all products meet our high standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Preparation
    • Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
    • Prepare pastry for special occasions, such as weddings and birthdays.
  • Inventory Management
    • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies.
    • Organize and maintain inventory to ensure that all necessary ingredients and supplies are available.
  • Team Supervision
    • Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff.
    • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
    • Ensure that all staff members are aware of and adhere to our quality control standards.
  • Quality Control
    • Inspect kitchen and food service areas to ensure that they meet our high standards of cleanliness and organization.
    • Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards.
  • Scheduling
    • Draw up production schedules to ensure that all products are prepared and delivered on time.
    • Schedule staff to ensure that all areas of the bakery are adequately staffed.
Requirements
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a bakery or cake shop environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college or CEGEP education preferred.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
Work Environment

The Bakery Operations Manager will work in a fast-paced bakery environment, with frequent exposure to flour, sugar, and other baking ingredients. The ideal candidate will be able to work well in a team environment and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
