Medical Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist II to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our Laboratory department, you will be responsible for performing laboratory work and related duties in the field of Biochemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Accessioning, and Urinalysis.
Key Responsibilities- Under the direction of the Chief Medical Technologist, perform laboratory work and related duties in the field of Biochemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Accessioning, and Urinalysis.
- Work mainly in Accessioning, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of laboratory samples.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to maintain high-quality laboratory services and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement effective laboratory procedures and protocols to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide training and guidance to junior laboratory staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Must have successfully completed an approved CSMLS course in Medical Technology and be registered with the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS).
- Minimum of five (5) years recent related experience in a laboratory with experience in supervision.
- Ability to analyze statistical data, organize work, and maintain effective work relationships with others.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
