Medical Laboratory Technologist II

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist II to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As an Accessioning Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services.
Key Responsibilities- Under the direction of the Chief Medical Technologist, perform laboratory work and related duties in the field of Biochemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Accessioning, and Urinalysis.
- Work mainly in Accessioning, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of laboratory samples.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to maintain high-quality standards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement effective procedures to improve laboratory efficiency and productivity.
- Provide training and guidance to junior laboratory staff as needed.
- Must have successfully completed an approved CSMLS course in Medical Technology and be registered with the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS).
- Minimum of three to four years' post-Registered Technologist experience as a Medical Technologist in all disciplines of the laboratory.
- Two years recent Accessioning experience.
- Minimum of five years recent related experience in a laboratory with experience in supervision.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
- Ability to supervise and lead a team.
- Ability to analyze statistical data and implement changes to improve laboratory efficiency.
- Ability to maintain effective work relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Ability to keep abreast of technological developments in the field and implement appropriate changes.
- Organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
