Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our Laboratory department, you will be responsible for obtaining and preparing specimens for routine analysis, performing various testing procedures, and working collaboratively with our team to ensure accurate and timely results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and prepare specimens for routine analysis, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Perform various testing procedures, including Hematological, Microbiological, Biochemical, and Immunohematological testing.
  • Work collaboratively with our team to ensure accurate and timely results, maintaining high standards of quality and patient care.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities, contributing to the development and implementation of new procedures and protocols.
  • Provide excellent customer service, communicating effectively with healthcare professionals and patients to ensure seamless care.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved school of Medical Laboratory Technology and current Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science registration.
  • One (1) year recent related experience, with a strong background in Hematology and Microbiology.
  • Experience in all the above disciplines preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
