We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist II to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As an Accessioning Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services.
Key Responsibilities- Under the direction of the Chief Medical Technologist, perform laboratory work and related duties in the field of Biochemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Accessioning, and Urinalysis.
- Work mainly in Accessioning, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of laboratory samples.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to maintain high-quality laboratory services.
- Supervise and train laboratory staff as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with technological developments in the field and implement appropriate changes.
- Must have successfully completed an approved CSMLS course in Medical Technology and be registered with the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS).
- Minimum of five (5) years recent related experience in a laboratory with experience in supervision.
- Ability to analyze statistical data, organize work, maintain effective work relationships, and keep abreast of technological developments.
- Organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
