We are currently looking for a Clinical Laboratory Specialist with expertise in Core Laboratory and Hematology disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a variety of laboratory tests and procedures while strictly following established protocols on patient samples to aid in the diagnosis, research, treatment, or prevention of diseases.
  • Perform tests that may include standardized and semi-routine biological, chemical, hematological, immunological, immunohematological, microbiological, and serological analyses in both research and clinical settings.
  • Act as a primary operator for the introduction of new equipment and methodologies.
  • In complex scenarios, assess all relevant information to determine whether test results should be released, repeated, or escalated to a pathologist.
  • Participate in the laboratory's safety committee; develop and maintain safety and infection control protocols, ensuring that accurate Safety Data Sheets are available.
  • Provide instruction on medical technology principles and techniques while mentoring junior technologists.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field in the chemical, physical, or biological sciences is required. Other degrees may be considered if obtained from an accredited institution and if the science and math coursework meets the criteria set by the certifying agency.

In certain cases, a Bachelor's degree requirement may be waived for medical technologists who were ASCP certified prior to the implementation of the degree requirement by ASCP and for those certified by Health and Human Services.
