Cybersecurity Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Security Specialist to join our team at Family and Children's Services Niagara. As a key member of our Technical Services Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our IT systems and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and Maintain Security Infrastructure: Develop and implement a comprehensive security governance program, security plan, policies, and risk management framework to protect our IT systems and data.
- Monitor and Detect Security Threats: Continuously monitor our systems and networks to detect and respond to security threats, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our data.
- Provide Specialist Technology Solutions: Offer expert advice and guidance on cybersecurity best practices, security solutions, and risk management strategies to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Conduct Security Investigations and Incident Response: Participate in security investigations and assist in incident response and recovery activities to minimize the impact of security incidents.
- Maintain Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Systems: Ensure the availability and integrity of our business continuity and disaster recovery systems, including data backup and recovery processes.
- Conduct Vulnerability Scans and Penetration Testing: Conduct regular vulnerability scans and penetration testing to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
- Provide Support and Maintenance: Offer technical support and maintenance services for our IT systems, including Microsoft 365, servers, Azure Cloud, VMWare, switches, firewalls, computers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Education and Experience: A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of IT security and networking experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft security solutions, including Defender, Sentinel, and Security Centre, as well as experience with security information and event management systems, antivirus software, and firewalls.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and stakeholders to identify and mitigate security risks.
- Work Environment: The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, with frequent interruptions and occasional travel required.
- Physical Demands: The incumbent will be required to sit for long periods and use a computer and phone, with occasional lifting of equipment.
