Position Available: Hydroelectric Project Superintendent

As a Hydroelectric Project Superintendent, you will be instrumental in orchestrating and overseeing construction, maintenance, and renovation activities at a hydroelectric facility. You will lead diverse teams, emphasizing efficiency, safety, and adherence to quality benchmarks in hydroelectric energy production endeavors.

  • Assess labor needs and resource allocation
  • Collaborate with project managers for effective planning
  • Conduct weekly logistical evaluations and prepare requisitions
  • Supervise on-site operations to maintain safety, quality, and performance standards
  • Optimize the use of human and material resources for operational effectiveness
  • Enforce safety protocols in line with industry regulations
  • Engage with suppliers, subcontractors, and external partners to ensure compliance with contracts
  • Encourage professional growth through ongoing training programs
  • Deliver progress reports and propose solutions to challenges
  • Participate in project meetings and detailed scheduling activities

Additional Qualifications:

Educational Background: DEC in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline

Experience: 7+ years

  • Extensive experience in managing construction projects within hydroelectric facilities
  • Thorough understanding of safety, health, and construction regulations, particularly in the context of Hydro-Québec
  • Strong planning, leadership, and communication capabilities
  • Proven ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent analytical, adaptive, and priority management skills
  • Experience with central works code and supervisory training (preferred)
  • Valid driver's license, proficiency in digital tools, and safety training certifications
