About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Davidson Contract Services. As an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees and the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate Daily Operations: Conduct regular site visits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Motivate Staff: Foster a culture of safety within the organization by promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Establish and Implement Policies and Procedures: Develop and maintain effective health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate Workplace Accidents or Illnesses: Conduct thorough investigations into workplace incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee the Analysis of Employee Data and Information: Analyze employee data and information to identify trends and areas for improvement in health and safety performance.
  • Ensure Health and Safety Regulations are Followed: Ensure that all employees understand and comply with health and safety regulations and policies.
  • Respond to Employee Questions and Complaints: Provide timely and effective responses to employee questions and concerns regarding health and safety.
  • Knowledge of Highway Trucking and Associated Rules and Regulations: Possess a strong understanding of highway trucking regulations and requirements.
  • Computer and Technology Knowledge: Proficient in MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.
  • Type of Inspection and Investigation: Conduct work-related accident investigations.
  • Type of Industry Experience: Experience working in the trucking industry.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Personal Suitability: Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, flexibility, and judgment.
  • Screening Questions: Answer questions regarding previous experience in the field of employment.
