About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Atlas-Apex Roofing (Kitchener) Inc. as a permanent employee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement health and safety plans to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify and mitigate safety and health hazards.
  • Investigate workplace accidents and illnesses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Train and motivate staff to promote a culture of safety and health awareness.
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Manage training and development strategies to ensure staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs safely.
  • Oversee the analysis of employee data and information to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement health and safety plans to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed and enforced throughout the organization.
  • Oversee the preparation of reports to management and regulatory bodies.
  • Advise senior management on health and safety matters and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Respond to employee questions and concerns regarding health and safety.
  • Liaise with management, union officials, and HR consultants to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Hand-eye coordination and ability to distinguish between colors.
  • Ability to work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Steel-toed safety boots and other personal protective equipment as required.
