Position Overview:

As the Senior Vice President, Environmental Product Strategy, you will be at the forefront of leading our Environmental product line to meet and exceed profitability objectives aligned with our corporate goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives for the Environmental product line in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to the environmental underwriting teams, ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Continuously assess and refine underwriting guidelines and authority to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular audits of the portfolio to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams including Regional, Actuarial, Claims, IT, and Operations to drive profitability while addressing client needs.

Strategic Leadership:
In this role, you will:
  • Define and lead the strategic direction for Environmental products, ensuring alignment with the Division business plan.
  • Develop financial and operational plans in partnership with the President/DMD, SVP Underwriting, and Finance.
  • Maintain technical pricing standards and underwriting authority specific to the Environmental product line.
  • Oversee account referrals that exceed field underwriting authority, ensuring consistent and high-quality outcomes.

Portfolio Management:
Manage the Environmental product through:
  • Continuous Portfolio Management, providing clear underwriting direction to field teams.
  • Preparation and execution of specialized training for underwriters and support staff.
  • Reviewing accounts that exceed assigned authority levels and providing feedback to senior leadership regarding product and underwriting concerns.
  • Collaboration with Claims, Actuarial, and product leaders for thorough results analysis.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in insurance underwriting and leadership, with at least 5 years in Environmental underwriting.
  • An undergraduate degree is preferred; a graduate degree or industry designations are advantageous.
  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills.
  • A proactive, high-energy approach with flexibility and adaptability.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, confidence, integrity, and enthusiasm.
