Director of Industry and Professional Engagement

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our industry and professional engagement efforts at Sheridan College. As the Director of Industry and Professional Engagement, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to foster strong relationships between our institution and industry partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Innovate: Develop and execute innovative strategies to enhance industry partnerships and provide students with access to top-tier employment, Co-op, and Work-Integrated Learning opportunities.
- Negotiate and Collaborate: Establish and maintain partnerships with industry leaders and employers to provide students with meaningful work experiences and career opportunities.
- Team Leadership: Guide a team of professionals in employer relations, job development, and business development to achieve strategic objectives.
- Marketing and Business Development: Develop and implement marketing and business development strategies to position Sheridan as a leader in industry engagement.
- Relationship Management: Foster strong, reciprocal relationships between Sheridan and industry partners to drive mutual growth and success.
- Be the Face of Sheridan: Represent Sheridan externally, anticipating and meeting the evolving needs of our employer and industry partners with innovative solutions and unparalleled support.
About You:
We are looking for a highly organized, self-directed, and resourceful leader with exceptional networking capabilities and a proven track record of building strong relationships with industry partners. You should have a solid understanding of cultural diversity and the needs of special populations, with a commitment to creating safe, brave, and inclusive environments.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Education, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or a related discipline.
- 7 years of professional experience in employer relations in higher education or work-integrated learning.
- Significant experience in program management, marketing, strategic planning, public relations, and supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated experience in leading mid-large projects or initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in event planning and program management.
- Experience with report-writing, correspondence, and presentations.
