We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Operations Manager - Clinical Services to join our team at PHSA. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage the clinical operations of our cancer centre, working closely with our medical, nursing, and administrative teams to provide high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic priorities and operational plans for the cancer centre, in collaboration with practice leaders and senior directors.
- Provide leadership and direction to team members, using effective management techniques and participating in hiring, retention, supervision, and recognition of staff.
- Manage service area operations, coordinating and establishing priorities, assessing and monitoring staffing requirements and supplies, and defining an effective workforce plan.
- Prepare and manage operating budgets, monitoring variances and using best practice methods in reporting and managing allocated budget.
- Lead quality improvement activities, identifying evidence-based outcomes, developing quality indicators and care pathways, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.
- A Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field from an accredited university, with clinical nursing experience and a Master's degree being a strong asset.
- 7-10 years of recent and related clinical experience, including 2 years in a managerial/leadership capacity.
- Current registration/membership with an appropriate professional college (if applicable).
- Proven leadership and teambuilding abilities, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Critical thinking skills and proven ability to effectively manage human and fiscal resources.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience of quality assurance processes, operational planning, and program development.
- Demonstrated basic computer literacy with word processing, spreadsheet, and/or database programs, and ability to utilize a computerized patient care information system.
- Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls calls for justice, and how they intersect across the health care system.
