About the Role

The Director of Membership Growth and Retention will be responsible for driving membership growth and retention, developing and implementing strategies to fill programs and services to capacity, cultivating partnerships, and building external communications plans. This role will also oversee member engagement, develop innovative advertising programs, and lead a dynamic team of marketers and Guest Service team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive membership growth and retention
  • Fill programs and services to capacity through effective marketing and sales efforts
  • Cultivate partnerships with external organizations to enhance member engagement and experience
  • Build and execute external communications plans to promote the MNP Community & Sport Centre brand
  • Lead a dynamic team of marketers and Guest Service team members to achieve business objectives
  • Develop and implement innovative advertising programs to drive sales and develop loyal customers
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Marketing team, Guest Service Manager, and Guest Service Team members
  • Function within a strategic and policy framework established by the CEO and the Board
  • Contribute to organizational strategy and policy development
  • Leverage technology, artificial intelligence, and Salesforce-based software to engage and support members
  • Foster an environment rich in Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion for all members and staff
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with staff, public, board members, and sport partners
  • Act as Facility Supervisor on designated shifts and ensure facility-wide safety and emergency procedures are followed
  • Build relationships with Marketing and Guest Service Leaders of like facilities to share information and gather competitive intelligence
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in marketing or related field
  • At least five years of experience developing and implementing best practices, marketing initiatives, and providing creative direction
  • At least three years of experience working in the recreation industry or related industry
  • At least three years of experience working in B2C and B2B marketing and sales
