Job Title: 2nd Class Power Systems Engineer at a Premier Food Production Organization

Overview: Become a vital member of our engineering team as a 2nd Class Power Systems Engineer, where you will be instrumental in maintaining compliance with industry regulations and enhancing operational efficiency. This role offers a competitive compensation rate of $48.27 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage utility systems, including steam generation, HVAC, compressed air, water supply, natural gas, and refrigeration units.
  • Work collaboratively with external contractors, equipment manufacturers, and service providers to optimize operational workflows.
  • Establish and uphold critical operational protocols such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Preventive Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance (PDM), and Work Orders (WOs).
  • Lead initiatives aimed at improving utility systems and infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food safety regulations.
  • Foster a workplace culture that emphasizes engagement, accountability, and teamwork among staff.

Qualifications:

  • Valid 2nd Class Power Engineering certification.
  • Expertise in managing steam, ammonia, and refrigeration systems.
  • Exceptional organizational capabilities.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently.
  • Collaborative team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Experience in the food production or manufacturing sector is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in steam and refrigeration systems.
  • Additional certifications such as Millwright or Plumbing are beneficial.
  • Previous experience in food processing environments.
  • Proficiency in computer operations, including Microsoft Office and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Understanding of root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies like Six Sigma.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, initiative, and teamwork skills.
  • Experience in project management.
  • A commitment to achieving both personal and organizational objectives.
