POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a 2nd or 3rd Class Licensed Power Engineer. This role will be based in our facility, reporting directly to the Chief Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all facets of power plant operations, collaborating with various departments including Production, Wastewater, and Maintenance to ensure seamless operations in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION:

  • 12-hour Rotating Continental Shifts
  • Compensation: $53 per hour for 2nd Class, $45 per hour for 3rd Class
  • Shift premiums: $0.85 for afternoon shifts and $1.25 for weekends
  • Overtime compensation available after 40 hours in a week

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of high-pressure steam plants, compressor systems, cooling towers, and related equipment.
  • Manage maintenance tasks for boilers, cooling water systems, and steam distribution networks.
  • Actively participate in the Health and Safety program, conducting pre-task inspections and adhering to Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Support energy management initiatives and sustainability efforts within the facility.
  • Maintain operational parameters for High-pressure Boilers, ensuring compliance with design specifications.
  • Conduct routine inspections and report any deficiencies to the Chief Engineer.
  • Keep accurate logs of all activities and analyze data for corrective actions.
  • Manage inventories of utilities and maintain a clean and functional work area.
  • Assist in diagnosing process issues and perform necessary adjustments in the absence of plant electricians.
  • Participate in relief shifts to perform preventive maintenance and manage spare parts orders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid 2nd Class Power Engineer Certificate or 3rd Class Power Engineer Certificate with significant progress towards 2nd Class.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in pipe fitting or millwright work is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with boilers, cooling towers, and air quality control systems.
  • Project management experience and new boiler commissioning knowledge are beneficial.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical capabilities.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and capable of completing assignments with minimal supervision.
