Role Responsibilities

The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled Investigations Assistant to provide specialized administrative support to the Investigations Unit in the Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Branch.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of electronic files relating to fatality inquiries and serious incidents reported to Alberta Justice, Crown Prosecutor. This includes collecting and assembling documents, developing related correspondence, and tracking reports written by Lead Investigators.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing administrative support to Investigators, Lead Investigators, Managers, and the OHS Branch as needed.
  • Tracking and processing prosecution recommendation reports and compiling Disclosure (e-files) to the Crown's office.
  • Coordinating contract administration processes and providing back-up and cover for other office Administrative Support and Business Manager as necessary.
  • Providing system support for DASH (formerly CMIS) including database management and running reports.
  • Coordinating travel, training, and accommodations arrangements.
  • Providing administration support for Investigation Files.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality are essential.
