Healthcare Safety Officer - Paladin Security

We are in search of approachable and self-assured Security Professionals to serve at various healthcare establishments. This encompasses hospitals, private clinics, long-term care facilities, and more. Our dedicated management team collaborates with employees to identify a role and work environment that aligns with their personal schedules.

Working in Healthcare Security can be both physically and emotionally challenging. Security Professionals are tasked with delivering support, empathy, customer service, and ensuring public safety for healthcare staff, visitors, clients, and patients alike. The dynamic settings in which our Security Professionals operate can be both rewarding and stimulating, yet also demanding. Our experienced Healthcare managers provide round-the-clock support for our team members, focusing on proactively reducing risks and offering real-time assistance during incidents.

  • You possess strong verbal and written communication abilities, outstanding interpersonal skills, and proven conflict de-escalation techniques.
  • You approach conflict resolution with empathy and appreciate the chance to contribute positively. You value diversity and welcome interactions with a wide range of individuals.
  • You remain composed under pressure and are confident in your problem-solving skills.
  • You recognize the significance of confidentiality in a professional setting.
  • You are capable of fulfilling all physical demands of the role, including walking up to 20km per shift, navigating stairs, and managing 30-pound doors.
  • You have flexible availability and are prepared to work both day and night shifts, typically following a 4 on, 4 off rotation.
  • You hold a valid AB Security license or are willing to obtain one before starting your role with Paladin Security.
A typical day as a Healthcare Safety Officer:

While your specific responsibilities may vary based on your assigned location, you can anticipate performing the following tasks:
  • Manage access control to and from the facility, including restricted areas.
  • Monitor and react to incidents detected on the premises, including surveillance footage.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the facility, identifying risks such as unsecured doors, blocked exits, mechanical problems, hazardous materials, and security breaches.
  • Respond to alarms and emergency assistance requests.
  • Investigate and document any irregularities encountered during your duties.
  • Ensure patient safety by monitoring and reporting incidents as necessary.
