Position Summary:
 The Healthcare Support Specialist plays a vital role within the interprofessional healthcare team, providing ongoing support to clients. This role involves observing, monitoring, and reporting on client conditions, including any changes in physical or emotional health. The Specialist ensures that any significant changes are communicated to the Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
This position is responsible for administering prescribed medications in accordance with established policies and procedures.

In alignment with Carewest's Philosophy of Care and policies, this role upholds professional and ethical standards consistently.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Program Overview: Our Complex Mental Health Care program offers comprehensive support for adults experiencing complex behaviors related to mental illness, dementia, or other cognitive disorders.

Qualifications:
  • Completion of Grade 12 and graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating effectively in English.
  • Physically capable of performing frequent lifting, transferring, and repositioning of clients.
  • Active registration in the Alberta HCA Directory is required.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous; program-specific training is a plus.
