Role Summary: The Perioperative Quality Lead (PQL) plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of perioperative care within the Pediatric Perioperative Service. Reporting to the Manager of Pediatric Perioperative Services, the PQL is responsible for spearheading quality initiatives that improve service delivery and patient outcomes. This position collaborates with various quality roles across the organization to ensure the highest standards of care are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement quality improvement strategies, focusing on key performance indicators and clinical practice enhancements.
  • Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing operational efficiency and resource management.
  • Work alongside surgical quality improvement teams to establish effective quality improvement processes.
  • Analyze data to inform service delivery improvements and enhance overall quality.
  • Lead and support perioperative teams in the execution of quality initiatives and policy development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field.
  • Eligibility for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS-C) required.
  • Minimum of five years of recent experience in Perioperative Services, with a preference for pediatric experience.
  • Experience in a quality improvement role is an asset.
