Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Rooms Division Director will oversee the Front Office, housekeeping, and laundry operations along with their respective teams.

In this role, you will:

  • Guide the rooms team to achieve guest satisfaction objectives across Front Office, Laundry, and housekeeping.
  • Analyze reports and financial documents to assess Rooms operations performance relative to budgetary expectations.
  • Mentor and assist the operations team in effectively managing occupancy, rates, labor, and variable costs.
  • Formulate and execute comprehensive strategies that deliver products and services exceeding brand targets while ensuring a return on investment for the owner and company.
  • Advocate for the brand's service vision in product and service delivery.
  • Convey a clear and consistent message regarding departmental objectives to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Establish and implement cleaning standards that surpass guest expectations and maintain hotel quality.
  • Supervise an efficient laundry production process and provide guidance to the laundry team.
  • Make decisive actions to propel the property towards goal achievement.
  • Monitor and promote room rates, special offers, and hotel promotions.
  • Investigate service challenges and identify trends; collaborate with the team to devise solutions.
  • Work with the HR team to ensure appropriate staffing levels based on occupancy trends.
  • Set performance goals and expectations for direct reports using the performance review process and hold staff accountable for their success.
  • Ensure fair and consistent administration of property policies.
  • Encourage the growth and development of employees within the organization.
  • Equip your team with the necessary tools to address guest issues and complaints effectively.
  • Ensure the rooms division adheres to all Occupational Health and Safety standards.

What we seek:

  • Experience in managing hotel operations.
  • Prior experience in coaching and supervising employees in front office, laundry, and housekeeping.
  • An undergraduate degree, certificate, or diploma focused on hospitality or a related field is advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communicator with a natural talent for fostering excellence in others.
  • Deep understanding of and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with Opera PMS is beneficial but not essential.
