Position OverviewThe Perioperative Quality Lead (PQL) plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of perioperative care. Reporting to the Manager of Pediatric Perioperative Services, the PQL is responsible for the development, execution, and assessment of quality initiatives that significantly influence the delivery of services within the Pediatric Perioperative Service. This role involves collaboration with quality professionals across various programs to elevate the standards of Perioperative Services throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and oversee quality improvement initiatives within the perioperative setting, including the identification of performance indicators and data management.
- Drive continuous quality enhancement focused on operational efficiency and resource optimization.
- Work alongside surgical quality improvement teams to establish effective quality improvement processes.
- Analyze and utilize data to improve service delivery and patient outcomes.
- Provide leadership and support to the perioperative team in quality improvement efforts.
- Assist in the formulation and revision of perioperative policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required; relevant experience may be considered.
- Eligibility for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses.
- Current BLS-C (HCP) Certification is mandatory.
- Five years of recent experience in Perioperative Services is essential, with pediatric experience preferred.
- Experience in a Quality Improvement role is advantageous.
Additional Skills: Proficiency in quality systems, project management, and educational methodologies is preferred. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
