We are currently seeking casual Client Services Assistants (PSW) to enhance our Parkland Fredericton - Brunswick Hall team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with hygiene and daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, meals, and mobility as per work assignments.
  • Facilitate social, spiritual, and intellectual activities for residents.
  • Maintain cleanliness in resident rooms and common areas.
  • Administer medications to residents as directed by the Resident Services Coordinator/Manager, adhering to all medication management policies and guidelines.
  • Perform all duties in alignment with Shannex's Philosophy of Service: Your life. Your choice. Your Home.
  • Communicate and report relevant information regarding resident care or safety to the Supervisor.

Qualifications

In addition to valuing continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability, you bring:

  • A valid Personal Support Worker diploma, certificate, or equivalent (must be enrolled in a program if not already obtained).
  • Ability to work a minimum of 6 shifts per quarter with a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • A valid CPR & First Aid Certification (required).
  • Ability to provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening upon hire.
  • Advanced proficiency in the English language is required; proficiency in French is considered an asset.
  • Completion of an Alzheimer's and Dementia Care course is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience working with the elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment is an asset.
  • A passion for the healthcare sector and ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care.
