Position Overview

The Culinary Support Supervisor plays a crucial role in the food service industry, overseeing the preparation and cooking of meals while adhering to established recipes and production standards. This position requires a strong commitment to food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices. The supervisor will also be responsible for managing kitchen staff and ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.



Key Responsibilities
  • Assigns daily tasks to kitchen staff and monitors their progress to ensure timely completion.
  • Provides training and support to team members on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and sanitation practices.
  • Prepares meals according to standardized recipes and production guidelines.
  • Organizes the workstation with necessary ingredients and equipment for efficient food preparation.
  • Measures, weighs, and prepares ingredients by chopping, trimming, and mixing as required.
  • Utilizes kitchen tools and equipment safely, including knives and cooking appliances.
  • Employs various cooking methods such as baking, roasting, and steaming to prepare a diverse range of dishes.
  • Presents and portions food attractively, following established plating guidelines.
  • Ensures proper food storage in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Delivers exceptional customer service with a friendly demeanor towards guests and colleagues.
  • Adheres to safety policies and procedures to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Manages work schedules and may assist in maintaining production records.

Qualifications
  • Preferred prior supervisory experience in a culinary or food service role.
  • Required experience as a cook or in a similar capacity.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight.
  • Strong understanding of food preparation principles, cooking techniques, and safety regulations.
  • Food safety certification is mandatory.
  • Basic math and counting skills are essential.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary.

This position may involve physical activities such as lifting, bending, and prolonged standing or walking. Compliance with uniform and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements may also be necessary.
