Job Overview

The Culinary Support Supervisor plays a vital role in the preparation and cooking of meals, adhering to established recipes and production standards while ensuring compliance with food safety, handling, and sanitation protocols. This position involves the safe operation of kitchen tools and equipment, including grills, fryers, and ovens. The Culinary Support Supervisor may oversee staff and assign tasks as necessary, with responsibilities tailored to meet client needs and operational demands.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Organizes and allocates daily tasks to team members, monitoring their progress and completion.
  2. Provides training and support to staff regarding their roles, food safety standards, and cooking techniques.
  3. Prepares and cooks meals in accordance with standardized recipes and production guidelines.
  4. Establishes a well-equipped workstation with all necessary ingredients and tools.
  5. Measures, weighs, mixes, chops, and prepares food items as required.
  6. Utilizes kitchen utensils safely, including knives.
  7. Operates various kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, and mixers.
  8. Employs diverse cooking methods including baking, roasting, and steaming for various food items.
  9. Presents and portions food according to established standards.
  10. Ensures proper food storage in line with safety regulations.
  11. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, tools, and equipment.
  12. Exhibits excellent customer service and a positive demeanor towards guests and colleagues.
  13. Adheres to safety policies and procedures, particularly regarding food safety and sanitation.
  14. Safeguards company resources and assets.
  15. Creates and maintains work schedules and may compile production reports.
Qualifications
  1. Prior supervisory experience in a culinary environment is preferred.
  2. Experience in cooking or a related field is required.
  3. Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight is essential.
  4. Solid understanding of food preparation principles, cooking methods, and safety regulations.
  5. Food safety certification is mandatory.
  6. Basic math and counting skills are necessary.
  7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
This position may involve physical activities such as lifting, bending, and prolonged periods of standing and walking. Additionally, uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
