Position Overview
The Culinary Support Supervisor plays a crucial role in the preparation and cooking of meals, adhering to established recipes and production standards while ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation protocols. This position requires proficiency in handling kitchen tools and equipment, including grills, fryers, and ovens. The supervisor may oversee kitchen staff and assign tasks based on operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Organizes and assigns daily tasks to kitchen personnel, ensuring timely completion of duties.
- Provides training and support to staff on food preparation techniques, safety standards, and sanitation practices.
- Prepares and cooks meals according to standardized recipes and production guidelines.
- Sets up workstations with necessary ingredients and equipment for efficient food preparation.
- Measures, weighs, and processes food items as required.
- Utilizes kitchen utensils and equipment safely and effectively.
- Employs various cooking methods, including baking, roasting, and steaming, to prepare a variety of dishes.
- Presents and portions food in accordance with established presentation standards.
- Ensures proper food storage practices are followed to maintain safety and quality.
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Delivers exceptional customer service with a positive demeanor towards guests and colleagues.
- Adheres to safety policies and procedures, particularly regarding food handling and sanitation.
- Safeguards company resources and assets.
- Develops and maintains work schedules and may assist in record-keeping for production.

Qualifications
- Prior supervisory experience in a culinary or related field is preferred.
- Experience in a cooking role is required.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight is essential.
- Strong understanding of food preparation principles, cooking techniques, and safety regulations.
- Food safety certification is mandatory.
- Basic math and counting skills are necessary.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
This position may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, and prolonged standing or walking. Uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
