Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Service: Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service to our guests, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Table Service: Provide exceptional table service in the Fairmont Gold lounge, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for our guests.
  • Cocktail Preparation: Prepare cocktails, coffees, teas, and other beverages for our guests, using your expertise to create unique and delicious concoctions.
  • Food and Beverage Presentation: Responsible for the set up and break down of all food and beverage presentations in the lounge, ensuring a visually appealing and appetizing experience for our guests.
  • Menu Knowledge: Assist guests regarding food and beverage menu items, having in-depth knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents, and preparation methods.
  • Lounge Maintenance: Ensure the lounge is well-maintained at all times, paying attention to detail to create a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for our guests.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with controlling inventory needed for the Fairmont Gold pantry and storage areas, ensuring efficiency and minimizing waste.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with departments that support Fairmont Gold, primarily the culinary and stewarding departments.
  • Policy Adherence: Ensure all Fairmont Château Laurier policies, procedures, and corporate Fairmont Gold standards are known, followed, and acted upon at all times.
Requirements
  • Food and Beverage Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in food and beverage serving, with a strong understanding of hospitality principles.
  • Smart Serve Certification: Possess a valid Smart Serve certification, demonstrating your expertise in serving and handling food and beverages.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent interpersonal and English/French communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with guests and colleagues.
  • Professional Presentation: Maintain a professional presentation, adhering to the highest standards of grooming and attire.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to think critically and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Reliability and Responsibility: Possess a high level of reliability and responsibility, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Aspects of the Position
  • Frequent Standing and Walking: Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift, with the ability to move quickly and efficiently.
