Key Responsibilities:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service to our guests
  • Provide exceptional table service in the Fairmont Gold lounge, including preparing cocktails, coffees, teas, and other beverages
  • Responsible for the set up and break down of all food and beverage presentations in the lounge
  • Assist guests with food and beverage menu items, including knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents, and preparation methods
  • Ensure the lounge is well maintained at all times, with attention to detail and a focus on creating a welcoming ambiance
  • Clearing dishes from guest tables and ensuring cleanliness of the lounge and service areas
  • Identify guest preferences and act on them to develop and maintain strong guest relationships
  • Effectively organize the Fairmont Gold pantry and storage areas to ensure efficiency
  • Assist with controlling inventory needed for Fairmont Gold pantry and storage areas
  • Create strong relationships with departments that support Fairmont Gold, primarily the culinary and stewarding departments
  • Ensure all Fairmont Chateau Laurier policies, procedures, and corporate Fairmont Gold standards are known, followed, and acted upon at all times
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage items
  • Follow all sustainability standards and initiatives

Requirements:

  • Food and Beverage serving experience required
  • Smart serve required
  • Excellent interpersonal and English/French communication skills
  • Must possess a professional presentation
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Highly responsible and reliable
  • Bar tending skills an asset

Physical Aspects of Position:

  • Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramp
