Position Overview

The HRIS and Payroll Specialist will oversee the daily operations of the Ceridian Dayforce Human Resources Information System (DF HRIS). This role involves supporting annual HR activities, assisting with system enhancements, and ensuring smooth payroll processing. The ideal candidate will focus on HR system administration tasks, including data processing, system configuration review, and report generation.

Key Responsibilities

HRIS Management:

  • Resolve HRIS-related inquiries through effective troubleshooting and system configuration.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including HR, Finance, and Technology, to address enhancement requests and system defects.
  • Conduct needs assessments and GAP analyses to optimize HR processes.
  • Engage with external vendors for configuration troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Assist the HR team with annual administrative tasks such as employee engagement surveys and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure data accuracy through regular analysis and report generation.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for HRIS processes and user guides.
  • Provide training and support for HRIS users.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.

Payroll Administration:

  • Document payroll processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Create reports to monitor payroll compliance and support third-party reporting needs.
  • Oversee payroll entries related to employee benefits and retirement programs.
  • Process payroll on a bi-weekly, monthly, and annual basis according to established schedules.
  • Manage year-end reporting, including tax statement distribution and statutory reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance departments on payroll-related matters.
  • Support audit requests from statutory and regulatory bodies.
  • Provide backup for payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate payments.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Human Resources, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Ceridian Dayforce HRIS/HCM systems.
  • Proficiency in XML programming and advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Experience in report design and data analysis.
  • Understanding of HR policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
