Position Overview

The HRIS and Payroll Specialist will oversee the daily operations of the Ceridian Dayforce Human Resources Information System (DF HRIS). This role will involve supporting annual HR activities, assisting with system configuration and testing for enhancements, and collaborating with the Payroll Manager to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities

HRIS Management:

  • Respond to HRIS inquiries by troubleshooting and configuring business processes, workflows, and report modifications.
  • Collaborate with various departments including HR, Talent Acquisition, and Finance to address system requests and enhancements.
  • Conduct needs assessments and perform gap analyses on DF HRIS to optimize business processes.
  • Engage with external vendors for configuration support as necessary.
  • Assist the HR team with system administration tasks during annual cycles, such as performance reviews and employee engagement surveys.
  • Ensure data accuracy through regular analysis and reconciliation efforts using advanced Excel functions.
  • Document and maintain user guides for DF HRIS and provide training to staff.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
  • Support daily transaction inputs into HR systems as required.
  • Create and maintain various reports for internal use.

Payroll Administration:

  • Document payroll processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements, and recommend enhancements for efficiency.
  • Generate reports to monitor payroll compliance and support third-party reporting needs.
  • Oversee payroll processing for benefits and retirement programs, ensuring accuracy in entries.
  • Manage bi-weekly, monthly, and annual payroll schedules, ensuring timely payments to regulatory agencies.
  • Handle year-end reporting, including tax statements and reconciliation of withholdings.
  • Act as a liaison with HR and Finance departments regarding payroll-related matters.
  • Support audit requests by providing necessary documentation and reports.
  • Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll for both salaried and hourly employees.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation and ensure compliance with employment standards.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Human Resources, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with Ceridian Dayforce HRIS/HCM systems.
  • Proficiency in XML programming and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer service orientation.
  • Experience in report design and data analysis.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities.
