About This Opportunity
We are seeking qualified Emergency Medicine physicians to provide shift coverage at community hospitals located in the Western Zone. This position presents an excellent opportunity for both family medicine and emergency medicine specialists to become integral members of the healthcare teams in various communities.
Responsibilities
The role involves a comprehensive scope of practice as an emergency physician, delivering care to patients within the designated zone. The physician will report to the Zone Department Head for Emergency Medicine, ensuring adherence to professional responsibilities and maintaining quality of practice in accordance with the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
Expected Hours

Qualifications
- All candidates must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
- Family physicians must hold membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
- Specialists should be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) is required.
- Current PALS Certification is mandatory.
- Current ATLS Certification is essential.
- ACLS Certification is preferred.
