About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a full-time Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients under the age of 18 in our outpatient clinic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients in our outpatient clinic, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Participate in program development, including the Behaviour Disorders and Early Psychosis Intensive Program.
  • Offer consultations to other physicians and rural clinics to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Contribute to and participate in teaching programs and activities, including the Family Medicine Residency Program and medical student education.
  • Participate in administrative responsibilities as assigned, including quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings.
Expected Hours and On-Call Requirements
  • Full-time position with on-call requirements.
Qualifications
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
  • Eligibility for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
