Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Manager of Planning and Environment, the successful candidate will collaborate with departmental and interdepartmental personnel to review and update the status of development applications. Responsibilities include processing applications for leasing or purchasing municipal properties, drafting and managing agreements related to municipal land transactions, and maintaining the lease and land sales database. The role also involves supporting research and gathering background information on land-related matters and municipal land administration, in compliance with relevant legislation, coordinating financial aspects of departmental projects, and preparing quarterly reports on land sales and development costs.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must possess a post-secondary diploma from a recognized technical land administration or paralegal program, along with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a legal setting. Equivalent qualifications with a strong administrative background will also be considered. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a solid understanding of Municipal and Territorial legislation concerning land administration, land-use planning, and development, as well as possess strong records management and analytical abilities. Proficiency in the MS Office suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, is essential, and familiarity with the ESRI GIS Product Suite will be regarded as an advantage.
