Your Role

As a Bilingual Language Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to linguistically revise and translate documents generated by the company, focusing mainly on English but also incorporating French, under the guidance of the director of the Language Services and Operational Support department in Montreal. The objective is to enhance the team of English-language linguists while also providing support to the Francophone team, ensuring the same high standard of language quality.

Your Responsibilities
  • Conduct linguistic, structural, stylistic, terminological, and translation revisions, along with layout adjustments for all deliverables, ensuring compliance with external client specifications and internal quality benchmarks.
  • Translate documents between English and French utilizing translation memories.
  • Create project or client sheets that contain essential information for consistent work, regardless of the assigned individual.
  • Compile, define, and translate terminology specific to Le Groupe Gesfor's areas of expertise, developing terminology sheets and glossaries.
  • Contribute to the establishment of a database of examples of specific documents to aid revisers' project requirements.
  • Serve as a resource for language, layout, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.) software within your specialty.
  • Engage in the development of any tools necessary for the department's efficiency and growth.
  • Perform any additional tasks assigned by your immediate supervisor.
Required Qualifications
  • University degree in translation, linguistics, languages, literature, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient language skills in both English and French.
  • Strong command of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word.
  • Familiarity with a CAT tool is an advantage.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, versatility, and rigorous work methodology.
  • Demonstrated responsibility, autonomy, and sound judgment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Team-oriented, with a customer service mindset and effective communication skills.

Work Conditions:

• 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
