About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Policy and Government Relations to join our team at ApplyBoard. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing our government relations strategy, ensuring alignment with our business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Government Relations Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive government relations strategy to advance the company's business goals, ensuring alignment with our business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Build and Maintain Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with key government officials, policymakers, regulatory agencies, and industry associations to advocate for policies and regulations that support the company's interests.
  • Monitor and Analyze Legislative and Regulatory Developments: Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments affecting the tech industry and provide strategic advice to the executive team.
  • Advocate for Favorable Policies and Regulations: Advocate for favorable policies and regulations at the local, state, provincial, and federal levels.
  • Represent the Company: Represent the company at industry conferences, hearings, and other public events.
  • Collaborate with Internal Teams: Collaborate with internal teams, including office of CEO, legal, compliance, and business units, to align government relations activities with company objectives.
  • Prepare and Deliver Briefs and Reports: Prepare and deliver briefs, reports, and presentations on government relations activities and policy developments.
  • Manage External Consultants: Manage external consultants to support government relations efforts.
Requirements
  • 10+ Years Experience: 10+ years experience in government relations, public policy, or a related field.
  • Strong Understanding of Legislative and Regulatory Processes: Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory processes.
  • Proven Track Record of Successful Advocacy: Proven track record of successful advocacy and relationship-building with government officials and regulatory bodies.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic Thinker: Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate and react to regulatory changes.
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, culturally diverse environment.
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High Ethical Standards: High ethical standards and a commitment to integrity.
  • Bonus Points for Fluency in French: Bonus points if you are fluent in French.
