About the Role

As a key member of our team, the Director of Government Relations will play a crucial role in shaping our company's policy and regulatory strategy. Reporting to the AVP of Communications, this individual will be responsible for developing and executing our government relations strategy, ensuring alignment with our business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Government Relations Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive government relations strategy that aligns with our business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain relationships with key government officials, regulatory bodies, and industry associations to advocate for policies and regulations that support our company's interests.
  • Policy Analysis: Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments affecting our industry and provide strategic advice to our executive team.
  • Advocacy: Advocate for favorable policies and regulations at the local, state, provincial, and federal levels.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including the office of the CEO, legal, compliance, and business units, to align government relations activities with company objectives.
  • Reporting and Presentations: Prepare and deliver briefs, reports, and presentations on government relations activities and policy developments.
  • External Partnerships: Manage external consultants to support government relations efforts.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in government relations, public policy, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, law, business, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory processes.
  • Proven track record of successful advocacy and relationship-building with government officials and regulatory bodies.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate and react to regulatory changes.
  • Bonus points if you are fluent in French.
