Job Description

The Institute of Public Administration of Canada is seeking a highly skilled Director, Government Relations to join our team in Ottawa. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and executing various government relations strategies to advance our mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Government Relations: Develop and implement effective government relations strategies to promote our organization's interests and priorities.
  • Policy Analysis: Monitor and analyze government policies, regulations, and initiatives to identify opportunities and challenges for our organization.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, stakeholders, and industry partners to advance our organization's goals.
  • Advocacy: Develop and execute advocacy initiatives to promote our organization's interests and priorities.
  • Communication: Develop and disseminate effective communication strategies to promote our organization's message and goals.
Requirements
  • Education: Hold a university degree or equivalent level of professional experience in a related field.
  • Experience: Possess at least 7+ years of professional experience in government relations, public administration, or a related field.
  • Skills: Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with the ability to think strategically and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Language: Proficiency in English at a high professional level is required, with a working ability in French considered an asset.
