Become a vital member of our Transplant Services team

At Alberta Health Services, we pride ourselves on delivering outstanding patient support and pioneering methodologies. We are in search of a Clinical Psychologist II to enhance our Recipient Transplant Services division, collaborating across various transplant initiatives. In this position, you will be tasked with performing psychological evaluations, administering therapeutic interventions, and guiding patients and their families throughout the transplant process. Furthermore, you will contribute significantly to program enhancement, research initiatives, and quality assurance efforts. We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills, a collaborative spirit, and a deep commitment to patient welfare.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver advanced psychological services, consultation, and education to the interdisciplinary team and patients/families
  • Oversee and coordinate services within a designated program area
  • Ensure that practices adhere to psychological standards and ethical guidelines
  • Engage in program development, staff education, quality enhancement, and research activities
  • Provide supervision to team members as required

Essential Qualifications:

  • Completion of a doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited institution
  • Registration with the relevant regulatory body for psychologists

Additional Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in psychological evaluations and treatment strategy formulation
  • Knowledge of DSM diagnostic criteria and therapeutic methodologies
  • Experience in managing chronic illnesses, addiction issues, or mental health conditions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in transplant services or interdisciplinary environments
  • Understanding of suicide risk assessment and community support programs
  • Capability to work with diverse populations across various age groups and challenges
