Position Overview

As a Senior Demand Planner, reporting to the Senior Planning Manager, your primary responsibility will be to manage the sales forecasting process that informs production and distribution planning for our finished goods, as well as the procurement of raw materials. You will work closely with various departments including management, sales, customer service, finance, and marketing to ensure alignment and effective communication. This role will also involve contributing to the implementation of a new ERP system. The ideal candidate will possess experience with MRP/ERP systems and a solid understanding of forecasting, planning, and supply chain methodologies.

Daily Responsibilities:

Your day will start with engaging discussions with colleagues, followed by a focus on reviewing forecast adjustments and key performance metrics, particularly forecast accuracy. You will analyze sales and inventory data to refine forecasts and identify trends. Collaborating with sales and planning teams, you will share insights to enhance forecast accuracy. You will also develop strategies based on planning team input to adjust forecasts for specific items and locations. Your day will conclude with documenting insights and preparing reports to ensure a productive start to the next workday.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Create 12-month forecasts at various aggregation levels using diverse statistical techniques, including regression and time series analysis.
  2. Conduct weekly data analysis to identify anomalies and special events that may affect forecasts.
  3. Work with sales managers to gather insights on product trends, inventory strategies, and competitive landscape.
  4. Maintain the monthly Sales and Operations Plan (S&OP) in collaboration with company leaders to align sales goals and strategies.
  5. Analyze discrepancies between actual sales and forecasts to understand demand influencers and present findings at S&OP meetings.
  6. Assist in setting inventory targets and production capacity plans to meet corporate standards across all distribution centers.
  7. Identify and address conflicts related to supply, demand, and capacity, proposing product life cycles and forecasting for new and discontinued products.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, statistics, or a related field is required. A minimum of 4 years of experience in demand planning and analysis is essential. Proficiency in statistics and forecasting is necessary, along with experience in R, Python, and VBA being advantageous. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, XLookup, and Power Queries) are required. Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems is essential, and APICS - CPIM certification is a plus. Attention to detail and strong communication skills in both French and English are crucial for serving our diverse customer base.
