Position Overview:

The Project Coordinator will oversee a dedicated team responsible for the installation, commissioning, and initiation of process machinery within the facility. This role involves managing and inspiring contractors to ensure timely, budget-compliant, and specification-adherent project completion. The Coordinator will handle field modifications, facilitate communication, and address technical inquiries, often collaborating with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) engineers on-site for technical assistance. The candidate will operate in a construction setting under the guidance of the Global Engineering Construction Manager.

Key Responsibilities:


• Assess risks and guarantee that contractors execute electrical and mechanical tasks safely, in accordance with specifications, within deadlines, and budget constraints.

• Engage in the preparation of installation bid packages, contractor evaluations, and pre-construction processes.

• Acquire a comprehensive understanding of equipment installation sequences, assembly details, budget estimates, job scopes, and timelines.

• Interpret and comprehend all manufacturer assembly diagrams and instructions related to equipment installation, bid packages, and construction documents, including scopes of work, specifications, and drawings.

• Facilitate daily meetings with contractors.

• Efficiently manage communications among contractors, corporate engineers, and other stakeholders to synchronize efforts and resolve challenges.

• Conduct weekly discussions with the GE process team and document meeting outcomes.

• Ensure all installations comply with GE standards and requirements.

• Verify key deliverables such as scope of supply, quality, workmanship, and functionality to confirm systems are operational.

• Perform administrative duties including scheduling, budget oversight, cost management, and issuance of weekly reports.

• Review and authorize progress invoices and change requests.

• Confirm receipt of all equipment drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and spare parts lists.

• Coordinate commissioning efforts with contractors, equipment suppliers, GE engineers, and the plant operations team.

• Align equipment commissioning activities with data management systems for production monitoring and tracking.

• Support the Process Sign-Off (PSO) for assigned equipment and manage punch lists.

• Gather and maintain 'as-built' documentation reflecting any modifications made during construction.

• Standard working hours will be five days per week during construction, with additional hours required to meet deadlines or during the initiation and testing of new systems.

Educational Background:

A Bachelor's degree or relevant experience is required.
Relevant experience is preferred, along with trade certifications (e.g., millwright or electrician).

Professional Experience:

• A minimum of 4 years of experience with a degree or 9 years of equivalent experience without a degree.

• A commitment to continuous learning demonstrated through the application of knowledge gained from additional education, experience, or training.

• Experience in cross-functional roles or projects.

• Participation in cross-functional assignments, projects, and other planned initiatives for self-development.

Required Knowledge:

Mechanical Systems:

• Comprehensive understanding of equipment rigging, leveling, alignment, grouting, welding, and commissioning procedures.

• Proficient in reading piping schematics and flow diagrams.

• Knowledgeable about environmental regulations and requirements.

• Familiarity with industrial piping, pumps, valves, and instrumentation for various systems including water, gas, hydraulics, pneumatics, steam, compressed air, and lubrication.

• Understanding of fire protection piping and systems, process ventilation, cooling systems, and dust collector systems.

• Awareness of industry and government specifications and standards related to these systems.

Electrical Systems:

• Experience with medium and low-voltage drives and machine control systems.

• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic control systems, vision systems for material tracking, gauging systems, and safety systems.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical diagrams, including single-line wiring diagrams and schematic drawings.

• Ability to verify electrical installations for compliance with industry standards and specifications.

• Experience in developing testing requirements and leading electrical equipment checkout, startup, and troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with budgeting and capital forecasting, as well as Gantt chart scheduling and risk mitigation strategies.

• Proficient user of AutoCAD for two-dimensional drafting.
