Position Overview:

You are considering a role as a Project Engineer with a prominent organization in the manufacturing sector.

The Project Engineer will take charge of the implementation of diverse mechanical systems within the facility. This role encompasses supervising contractors to guarantee the timely and cost-effective execution of projects while adhering to all specifications. Additionally, the position requires collaboration with design-build contractors, project area leaders, and corporate engineering teams.

This is a temporary contract position aimed at supporting an ongoing capital project, with the potential for transition to a permanent role based on organizational needs.

  • Oversee risks and ensure the safe and effective completion of mechanical tasks by contractors
  • Direct mechanical components of the project and assist in equipment installation and commissioning
  • Engage in bid package development and pre-construction activities
  • Facilitate communication among contractors, engineers, and other involved parties
  • Conduct administrative responsibilities such as scheduling, budget oversight, and report generation
  • Coordinate commissioning efforts with various teams

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities mechanical engineering. Strong project management capabilities and familiarity with construction methodologies are essential. Experience with AutoCAD and industrial mechanical design is also advantageous.

Mechanical Systems Expertise:

  • Industrial piping, pumps, valves, and instrumentation
  • Process ventilation and cooling systems
  • Compressors, cooling towers, boilers, and tanks
  • Ability to interpret drawings, P&IDs, flow diagrams, and schematics
  • Experience with equipment specifications and calculations
