Position Overview:The Engineering Project Manager will supervise a dedicated team to facilitate the installation, commissioning, and initiation of process machinery within the facility. This role involves overseeing and inspiring contractors to ensure timely, budget-compliant, and specification-adherent project completion. The Project Manager will address field modifications, engage in effective communication, and resolve technical inquiries. Typically, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) engineers will be present on-site to provide necessary technical assistance. The candidate will operate in a construction setting under the guidance of the Global Engineering Construction Manager.
Key Responsibilities:- Mitigate risks and guarantee that contractors execute electrical and mechanical tasks safely, in accordance with specifications, and within the established timeline and budget.
- Engage in the preparation of installation bid packages, contractor vetting, and pre-construction planning.
- Acquire a comprehensive understanding of equipment installation sequences, assembly specifics, budget estimates, project scope, and timelines.
- Interpret and comprehend all manufacturer assembly diagrams and installation instructions for equipment, bid packages, and construction documents, including scopes of work, specifications, and drawings.
- Facilitate daily meetings with contractors.
- Effectively coordinate communications among contractors, Goodyear corporate engineers, and other stakeholders to streamline operations and resolve challenges.
- Conduct weekly discussions with the GE process team and distribute meeting summaries.
- Ensure all installations comply with GE standards and requirements.
- Review key deliverables such as scope of supply, quality, craftsmanship, and functionality to confirm systems are operational.
- Handle administrative responsibilities including scheduling, budget oversight & cost management, issuance of weekly reports, and parts management.
- Evaluate and authorize progress invoices and change requests.
- Confirm receipt of all equipment drawings, operation & maintenance manuals, and spare parts lists.
- Coordinate commissioning efforts with contractors, equipment suppliers, GE engineers, and the plant operations team.
- Align equipment commissioning tasks with data management systems for production tracking and oversight.
- Support the Process Sign-Off (PSO) for designated equipment and manage punch lists.
- Gather and maintain 'as-built' documentation to reflect any modifications made during construction.
- Standard working hours will be five days per week during construction, with additional hours potentially required to meet deadlines or during the initiation and testing of new systems.
A Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics is required. Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and a Licensed Engineer (P.Eng) designation in Ontario.
Experience:A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning through professional licensing, advanced degrees, or additional training. Experience collaborating across divisions and with external organizations is advantageous. Candidates should have completed cross-functional assignments or projects and/or held at least two positions within the division or completed a plant assignment.

- Comprehensive understanding of equipment rigging, leveling, alignment, grouting, welding, and commissioning processes.
- Ability to interpret piping schematics and flow diagrams.
- Awareness of environmental regulations and requirements.
- Knowledge of industrial piping, pumps, valves, and instrumentation for various fluids.
- Familiarity with fire protection piping and systems.
- Understanding of process ventilation and cooling systems.
- Experience with dust collector systems.
- Knowledge of industry and government specifications and standards for the aforementioned systems.

- Experience with medium and low-voltage drives and machine control systems.
- Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.
- Knowledge of vision systems for material guidance and tracking.
- Understanding of gauging and barcoding systems.
- Awareness of safety systems.
- Ability to read and interpret various electrical diagrams and installation details.
- Capability to verify electrical drawings and installations for compliance with standards.
- Experience in developing testing protocols and leading electrical equipment checkout, startup, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with industry and government specifications and standards for electrical systems.
