Overview of the Role:

The Project Coordination Specialist will supervise a dedicated team to manage the installation, commissioning, and initiation of process machinery within the facility. This role involves overseeing contractors to ensure timely, budget-friendly, and specification-compliant project completion, while also addressing field modifications, facilitating communication, and resolving technical inquiries. The candidate will operate in a construction setting under the guidance of the Global Engineering Construction Manager.

Key Responsibilities:


• Assess risks and guarantee that contractors execute electrical and mechanical tasks safely, adhering to specifications, timelines, and budget constraints.

• Engage in the preparation of installation bid packages, contractor evaluations, and pre-construction planning.

• Acquire a comprehensive understanding of equipment installation sequences, assembly specifics, budget estimates, job scopes, and schedules.

• Interpret and comprehend all manufacturer assembly drawings and instructions related to equipment installation, bid packages, and construction documents, including scopes of work, specifications, and diagrams.

• Lead daily meetings with contractors.

• Efficiently manage communications among contractors, Goodyear corporate engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate efforts and resolve challenges.

• Conduct weekly discussions with the GE process team and distribute meeting summaries.

• Ensure all installations comply with GE standards and requirements.

• Review critical deliverables such as scope of supply, quality, workmanship, and functionality to confirm systems are operational.

• Handle administrative duties including scheduling, budget oversight, cost management, and issuance of weekly reports.

• Review and authorize progress invoices and change requests.

• Confirm receipt of all equipment drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and spare parts lists.

• Coordinate commissioning activities with contractors, equipment suppliers, GE engineers, and the plant operations team.

• Align equipment commissioning activities with data management systems for production tracking and monitoring.

• Support the Process Sign-Off (PSO) for assigned equipment and manage punch lists.

• Gather and maintain 'as-built' information to document any modifications made during construction.

• Standard working hours will be five days per week during construction, with additional hours as necessary to meet deadlines or during the startup and testing phases of new systems.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree or relevant experience is required.
Relevant experience is preferred, along with trade certifications (e.g., millwright or electrician).

Experience:

• Minimum of 4 years' experience with a degree or 9+ years of equivalent experience without a degree.

• A commitment to continuous learning demonstrated through the application of knowledge gained via education, experience, or training.

• Experience in cross-functional assignments or projects.

• Participation in cross-functional assignments, projects, and other divisional initiatives for personal development.

Knowledge and Skills:

Mechanical Systems:

• In-depth understanding of equipment rigging, leveling, alignment, grouting, welding, and commissioning procedures.

• Ability to interpret piping schematics and flow diagrams.

• Knowledge of environmental concerns and regulations.

• Familiarity with industrial piping, pumps, valves, and instrumentation for various systems including water, gas, hydraulics, pneumatics, steam, compressed air, and lubrication.

• Understanding of fire protection piping and systems.

• Knowledge of process ventilation and cooling systems, including humidity-controlled environments.

• Familiarity with dust collector systems and industry standards for the aforementioned systems.

Electrical Systems:

• Proficiency in medium and low-voltage drives and machine control systems.

• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.

• Experience with vision systems for material guidance and tracking.

• Familiarity with gauging and barcoding systems.

• Understanding of safety systems and the ability to read and interpret various electrical diagrams and drawings.

• Capability to verify electrical drawings and installations for compliance with Goodyear and industry standards.

• Experience in developing testing requirements and leading electrical equipment checkout, startup, and troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with Gantt chart scheduling and risk mitigation strategies.

• Proficient in AutoCAD two-dimensional drafting software.
