Position Overview:

The Project Coordinator will supervise a dedicated team responsible for the installation, commissioning, and initiation of process machinery within the facility. This role involves managing and inspiring contractors to ensure timely, budget-compliant, and specification-adherent project completion. The Coordinator will handle field modifications, facilitate communication among stakeholders, and address technical inquiries. Typically, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) engineers will also be present to provide technical assistance. The selected candidate will operate in a construction-oriented environment under the guidance of the Global Engineering Construction Manager.

Key Responsibilities:


• Oversee risk management and ensure that contractors execute electrical and mechanical tasks safely, in accordance with specifications, and within budget and time constraints.

• Engage in the preparation of installation bid packages, contractor assessments, and pre-construction planning.

• Acquire a comprehensive understanding of equipment installation sequences, assembly specifics, budget estimates, job scopes, and timelines.

• Interpret and comprehend all manufacturer assembly drawings and installation instructions, bid packages, and construction documents, including scopes of work, specifications, and diagrams.

• Facilitate daily meetings with contractors.

• Effectively manage communication between contractors, Goodyear corporate engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate efforts and resolve challenges.

• Conduct weekly discussions with the GE process team and document meeting outcomes.

• Ensure that all installations comply with GE standards and requirements.

• Review critical deliverables such as scope of supply, quality, craftsmanship, and functionality to confirm systems are operational.

• Perform administrative duties including scheduling, budget oversight, cost management, and weekly reporting.

• Evaluate and authorize progress invoices and change requests.

• Confirm receipt of all equipment drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and spare parts lists.

• Coordinate commissioning tasks with contractors, equipment suppliers, GE engineers, and the plant operations team.

• Align equipment commissioning efforts with data management systems for production monitoring and tracking.

• Support the Process Sign-Off (PSO) for assigned equipment and manage outstanding tasks.

• Gather and maintain 'as-built' documentation to reflect any modifications made during construction.

• Standard working hours will be five days per week during construction, with additional hours as necessary to meet deadlines or during the initiation and testing of new systems.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree or relevant experience is required.
Relevant experience is preferred, along with trade certifications (e.g., millwright or electrician).

Experience:

• Minimum of 4 years' experience with a degree or 9+ years of equivalent experience without a degree.

• Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning through education, experience, and training.

• Experience in cross-functional assignments or projects.

• Participation in cross-functional initiatives and projects for personal development.

Knowledge and Skills:

Mechanical Systems Knowledge:

• Comprehensive understanding of equipment rigging, leveling, alignment, grouting, welding, and commissioning procedures.

• Proficient in reading piping schematics and flow diagrams.

• Awareness of environmental regulations and requirements.

• Familiarity with industrial piping, pumps, valves, and instrumentation for various systems including water, gas, hydraulics, pneumatics, steam, compressed air, and lubrication.

• Knowledge of fire protection piping and systems.

• Understanding of process ventilation and cooling systems, including humidity control.

• Familiarity with dust collection systems and industry standards for the aforementioned systems.

Electrical Systems Knowledge:

• Understanding of medium and low-voltage drives and machine control systems.

• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.

• Familiarity with vision systems for material guidance and tracking.

• Understanding of gauging and barcoding systems.

• Knowledge of safety systems and ability to interpret various electrical diagrams and installation details.

• Experience in verifying electrical installations for compliance with Goodyear and industry standards.

• Ability to develop testing protocols and lead electrical equipment checkout, startup, and troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with budgeting and capital forecasting, as well as Gantt chart scheduling and risk mitigation strategies.

• Proficient in using AutoCAD for two-dimensional drafting.
