Position Overview

ABC Recycling Ltd. is on the lookout for a Business Development Manager to operate from our Grande Prairie, A.B. location. Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager, the Business Development Manager is responsible for driving corporate revenue growth and profitability through strategic business development, procurement, and sales initiatives. This role involves maintaining service excellence to nurture and expand existing accounts/vendors while actively seeking new accounts in a competitive landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identifies and actively pursues new business opportunities for ABC while enhancing existing relationships to boost volume and market share.
  • Follows up on sales leads from various sources.
  • Participates in meetings and events to build and sustain customer relationships.
  • Maintains the customer relationship database and ensures consistent communication.
  • Implements account management strategies for current and prospective clients to ensure loyalty and sales growth.
  • Collaborates with Operations to communicate client service requirements and ensure adherence to ABC service standards.
  • Promotes a strong customer service culture within the commercial procurement team, modeling and fostering ABC's customer service ethos throughout the organization.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of proven success in sales/account management roles within the waste recycling sector or similar service-oriented heavy industries, preferably in Alberta, British Columbia, or the Pacific Northwest.
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in business administration, marketing, or sales, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with CRM systems is advantageous.
  • A values-driven individual and a proven team player.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
