Your Role

The Sea Logistics Sales Executive is responsible for driving business development within a designated area, focusing primarily on our sea logistics offerings.

This role allows for the promotion of additional Kuehne + Nagel products and services, including airfreight, road freight, contract logistics, customs, and insurance.

Assigned a specific set of accounts by the Regional Sea Logistics Director, the primary objective is to foster growth in the Sea Logistics sector while managing an established portfolio. Performance targets will be set by the Regional Sea Logistics Director.

Your Responsibilities
  • Enhance sales growth by developing new lane segments and implementing effective marketing and customer support strategies.
  • Formulate a strategy to nurture existing customer relationships, identifying cross-selling opportunities.
  • Generate and secure new business opportunities while establishing criteria for account qualifications.
  • Achieve revenue growth and consistently meet or exceed sales goals and targets.
  • Manage and develop assigned customer accounts effectively.
  • Create and execute a comprehensive sales plan to ensure success.
  • Exhibit expertise in Sea Logistics products and services, managing sales in a structured manner.
  • Acquire the skills necessary to promote Airfreight, Road Freight, Customs brokerage, contract logistics, and insurance services.
  • Engage with clients, arrange meetings, deliver presentations, and negotiate pricing with confidence.
  • Document all customer interactions in the company CRM system, developing customer insights.
  • Handle all orders, quotes, follow-ups, and customer communications efficiently.
  • Provide a weekly sales activity report to management, summarizing activities and new revenue opportunities.
  • Participate in scheduled sales meetings.
  • Support Sea Logistics Product Management through competitive analysis and service offering enhancements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the company.
Your Skills and Experiences
  • A minimum of 5 years in field sales is required; prior operational experience is advantageous.
  • Proficient in PC operations and experienced with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with sea logistics services, including FCL, LCL, special equipment, consolidations, trans-loading, and drayage services.
  • Proactive and customer-oriented, with prior sales and/or customer service experience being beneficial.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective presentation and customer relationship management skills, with keen listening abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Goal-oriented, self-disciplined, and motivated to achieve results.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
